Head of Contract Sales – Europe

Tala is looking to hire an experienced sales person to lead the contract sales strategy in Europe.

Tala combines design, technology, and sustainability principles to create exceptional lighting products. The business works with category leading design partners in contract and retail channels with a rapidly growing ecommerce channel. Our sights are set on scale, which means expanding our international community, product portfolio and team.


We are looking for an ambitious individual to build and deliver the contract strategy throughout Europe. Tala has a registered BV company alongside an omni-channel fulfilment centre (Amsterdam) with readily available stock. This role will require actively building and developing relationships with lighting designers, consultants and architects, including contractors, clients and buyers. We need a proactive mind that is comfortable building sales budgets (within a wider P&L), uses analysis to drive performance and leverages process to make the sales funnel more efficient. Our goal is ensure consistent product release to produce a predictable and high growth contract channel.

The ideal candidate will share our ethos of sustainability and progressive thinking as well as being able to hit the ground running.


– Build and develop overall EU contract strategy & P&L
– Providing accurate sales forecasts with sound numerical reasoning
– Manage, develop and service existing accounts as well as identify and convert new account opportunities to achieve and exceed sales goals
– Build and manage a network of contract agents and dealers within EU where appropriate.
– Proactively build a data driven approach to sales (in collaboration with Trade Marketer)
– Set KPI’s and reporting results on a monthly basis
– Organising and delivering product training (both in house and remotely)
– Developing and maintaining key relationships with new and existing accounts
– Organising and attending sales related events
– Maintaining CRM tools, account maps and client base
– Working closely and collaboratively with other teams to communicate sales information


– Strong sales experience preferably in the lighting industry
– Numerically driven with track record
– Ambitious with an entrepreneurial mind set
– Ability to see projects from ideation through to completion
– Robust communication and presentation skills
– Strong time management and organisational skills
– An independent worker able to think for themselves whilst collaborating with other teams
– Understands the need for accurate data and a well-kept CRM
– A progressive thinker
